He is the younger son of legendary Japanese martial artist and actor Sho Kosugi and the brother of actor Kane Kosugi. Shane began acting as a child, appearing alongside his father in several martial arts films during the 1980s. After many years away from the entertainment industry, he returned as an independent filmmaker, working as a producer and director on action projects that showcase traditional martial arts and ninja culture.
