She made her debut as a solo artist in December 2011 with the single "Every Time I Play That Song" and was also part of the underground hip-hop group JIGGY FELLAZ.
She re-debuted in February 2012 as EXID's main rapper and lead dancer with their first single album, "Holla". The group did not enjoy any commercial success until 2014 with the single "Up & Down".
However, in May 2019, Banana Culture Entertainment (바나나컬쳐엔터테인먼트) announced that they would go on hiatus after the contracts of Park Jeong Hwa and Ahn Hee Yeon expired. She opted to leave the agency in February 2020.
She is currently represented by TR Entertainment (티알엔터테인먼트).
