Subha Devavul was a Thai author and screenwriter born in Bangkok, Thailand. She also wrote under the pen name Rotchana. Married to Mom Rajawongse Daddeb Devakula amd daughter-in-law of the royal family, she married while young, had five children, and became a widow before the age of 30.

Subha first began writing professionally to support herself and her family. She wrote forty novels, hundreds of short stories, and numerous television scripts and screenplays. She was president of the Writer's Association of Thailand from 1978 to 1982 and played an important role in establishing the S.E.A. Write Award.

At the age of 65, Subha passed away from lung disease.
