Jung Il Yeong is a South Korean professor. He graduated from Inha University with a bachelor's degree in French Language and Literature and later obtained a master's degree and a Ph.D. in Linguistics from the University of Paris VIII.

In the past, it was customary for doctoral candidates to visit their former mentors at their alma mater to seek assistance in securing full-time faculty positions. However, as he left for France to continue studying, he missed that chance. When he returned to South Korea, his mentor had retired, so he began working as a part-time lecturer at Inha University in 1996. He was later hired as an instructor at EBSi, where he taught French for the College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) for 12 years.

He is currently the DELF (an official test to certify the French language skills of non-native speakers) Proctor and Examiner at Siwon School and a visiting professor at Inha.
