He made his debut in July 2012 as the group's main vocalist with their first single album, "Bigstart". In 2014, they became the first South Korean group to hold 100 concerts in Japan.
He enlisted for his mandatory military service on February 5, 2018, and was discharged on October 6, 2019.
In July 2019, while he was still in the military, his contract with Brave Entertainment (브레이브엔터테인먼트) ended. He decided not to renew it, and as all the other members opted to do the same, BIGSTAR disbanded.
In 2021, he established his own company, Way Better (웨이베러), alongside IMFACT member Na Ung Jae (now known professionally as Hello Gloom) and changed his stage name to From20.
Later that year, he made his debut as a solo artist with his first album, "20; Still Greedy For Juicy, I'm Kissing This 20".
