Kim Min Seok is a Hungarian speed skater born in South Korea. He graduated from Pyeongchon High School.

He participated in the 2018 Winter Olympics and won a bronze medal in the 1,500 meters, skating in his first-ever Olympic event and became the first Asian athlete to medal at this event. He also won a silver medal in the team pursuit event. In the 2022 Winter Olympics, he won a bronze medal in the 1,500 meters.

However, in June 2022, he was booked for driving under the influence as he and three other members of the speed skating national team were coming back to the training center after a night out. He owned the vehicle but he was not driving, but all were suspended for different amounts of time, his was for one and a half years. He lost all sponsorships and government funding and faced criticism for his actions.

A few months later, the Korean Skating Union offered him a chance to train to prepare for the 2026 Winter Olympics. But, he declined as he will have no economic support. His former coach, Lee Cheol Won, is now training the Hungarian speed skaters and offered him the chance to naturalize as a Hungarian citizen in order to train and compete with proper funding. He accepted and lost his Korean citizenship in early 2024.
