Shin Jae Pyung is a singer-songwriter, producer, composer, professor, and member of PEPPERTONES (페퍼톤스). He graduated from Gyeonggi Science High School and later obtained a bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST).

While in college, he met fellow student Lee Jang Won at KAIST's Folk Club and Rock Club, as both were part of different bands. Lee's band won the Creative Song Festival, and afterwards, he personally recruited Lee to join his band.

He made his debut in March 2004 as the duo's leader and guitarist with their first EP, "A Preview".

In 2007, the song "Superfantastic" won the Best Dance & Electronic Song at the Korean Music Awards and in 2008, they signed with Antenna (안테나).

He has also written songs for other artists, most notably girl group f(x), singer-actress Park Ji Yoon, and singer Baek Ah Yeon and also continues to promote as part of the duo.
