In 2018, he appeared in the singing survival show "UNDER19" and finished in 2nd place, thus earning a spot in the resulting project group. He made his debut in April 2019 as 1THE9's main vocalist, lead dancer, and visual with their first mini-album, "XIX". They were supposed to be active for around one year, so in August 2020, PocketDol Studio (포켓돌스튜디오) announced their disbandment.
He returned to his agency, Play M Entertainment (플레이엠엔터테인먼트), and there were plans to include him in a new group that was being formed. However, his contract expired in November 2020, and he decided not to renew it. He left the company and also retired from the entertainment industry.
He announced on his personal IG that he was enlisting for his mandatory military service in the first week of April 2025.
