Imaoka Shinji

After dropping out of Yokohama City University, he joined the film production company Shishi Productions. He gained experience by working as an assistant director in pink films directed by filmmakers such as Sato Hisayasu, Watanabe Mototsugu, and Zeze Takahisa.
In 1995, he participated as an assistant director in the late Kumashiro Tatsumi's final work, the original video "Immoral: Indecent Relationship." That same year, he made his directorial debut with the pink film "Kemonotachi no Seien: Iku Toki, Issho."
He has co-directed adaptations of Tanizaki Junichiro's work "Daydream" with Aizome Kyoko. In 2011, he directed the Japanese-German co-production pink musical film "UNDERWATER LOVE -Onna no kappa-," which was filmed by Australian cinematographer Christopher Doyle.
