Before debuting, he was working as a barista and was scouted to do some modeling. He later became a trainee and made his debut in 2014 as the group's vocalist and visual with their first EP, "First Flow." The group faced constant lineup changes, and he decided to leave the group in early 2019 when his contract expired.
He married music video director Lee Sa Gang, who is 11 years older than him, in January 2019.
Former group mate Jung Jung Kyun became a producer at Madewell Music, and he brought him and other former BIGFLO members to the company and re-debuted as part of WE:A in March 2023 with the single "24/7:Twenty-Four/Seven".
