Kenji Wu is a Taiwanese singer-songwriter, actor, and host born in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. At the age of six, he moved to Argentina with his mother to reunite with his father, later returning to Taiwan due to family circumstances. Wu attended Zhongzheng Elementary School and Wufu Junior High School in Kaohsiung, and graduated from Daoming High School. He then studied Drama at the National Taiwan University of Arts.

In 2000, Wu participated in MTV's “New Voice Battle,” which led to a contract with Virgin Music, although he did not win the competition. He released his debut album, One Person's Tomorrow, on November 23, 2000, but it did not perform well commercially, prompting him to transition to acting in 2001. In 2004, he joined Seed Music.

In June 2013, Wu established his management company, He-Chun Entertainment, and began writing scripts. His brand, DEBRAND, was launched on November 30, 2013. In July 2014, he signed with Warner Music, and in 2019, he affiliated with He-le Music.

Wu was previously in a four-year relationship with He Chao Lien, the daughter of Macau businessman Ho Hung Shin. He later dated actress Chen Yu An from 2018 until their separation in early 2023.
