Eddy Kim
- Name: Eddy Kim
- Native name: 에디 킴
- Also Known as: 김정환, Edi Kim, Kim Jeong Hwan
- Nationality: South Korean
- Gender: Male
- Born: November 23, 1990
- Age: 34
He first appeared on TV as a contestant on "Superstar K 4" in 2012 while he was still serving in the military (the show introduced a new segment auditioning contestants in the military that otherwise would not have been able to apply for the show due to their mandatory service). He finished the show in the Top 6, and after he was discharged, he signed a contract with Mystic Story (미스틱스토리).
He made his debut in 2014 with the EP "The Manual", which included several self-composed songs. He switched to his English name and began collaborating with other singers and also recording OSTs for several dramas. He began experiencing a slump around 2016 and did not release any new material until 2018.
However, in April 2019, he became involved in a major controversy when he was allegedly linked to the Burning Sun Scandal, thanks to his close friend Jung Joon Young. MBC's "Newsdesk" reported that he was one of the members in a group chat where Jung shared illicit videos of him having sex with other women without their consent. Mystic Story claimed that he was indeed part of that chat but denied that he was involved in the filming or spreading of the footage.
Four days later, he accepted he had shared a photo he found online and did not film or distribute any kind of illicit footage. After many months of investigation, the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office dropped all charges as it was proven he was part of another chat with Jung and that he never was directly involved in the chatroom that led to the Burning Sun Scandal.
He left the entertainment industry for several years and finally announced a comeback in January 2024 as part of a special album produced by Yoon Jong Shin, Mystic's founder.
