In the mid-1980s, he co-founded Taiwan's first idol group, TWlN STAR, alongside his twin brother Pao Hsiao Song, and under the leadership of their older brother, Pao Wei Ming.
On January 12, 2006, Bao served as a judge on the "Happy Sunday" program segment "Artistic Singing Battle." During filming, he faced an attack from four assailants, three of whom were arrested at the scene.
On December 20, 2021, Bao’s daughter passed away at the age of 22 due to aplastic anemia.
