Kang Ta
- Name: Kang Ta
- Native name: 강타
- Given name: Ahn Chil Hyun
- Also Known as: Kangta
- Nationality: South Korean
- Gender: Male
- Born: October 10, 1979
- Age: 45
He made his debut in September 1996 as H.O.T's main vocalist, visual and face of the group with their first album, "We Hate All Kinds of Violence", which was accused of being plagiarized and lawsuits were placed against them. Despite their turbulent debut, the group eventually rose to fame with their first hit, "Candy", and the single "We Are the Future" won them an MTV award for Best International Video.
Despite their huge success, SM Entertainment (SM엔터테인먼트) officially announced their disbanded in May 2001. He remained at SM and made his debut as a solo artist in August of that year with the single album "Polaris".
He made his acting debut in Taiwan, appearing in the 2004 drama "Magic Touch of Fate", and a few months later, he appeared in the South Korean drama "Loveholic". He has also appeared in Chinese dramas as he has released a few singles in Mandarin.
He enlisted for his mandatory military service on April 1, 2008, and was discharged on February 19, 2010.
He has been an executive at SM Entertainment since 2005 and the chief producer of Kreation Music Rights's label Smashhit since 2023.
