Sasaki Yasushi was a film director in the Showa period. He dropped out of the Japanese Literature course at Hosei University. He belonged to Shochiku, Toei, and Toei Television Productions. Known as a master of fast-shooting, he produced a succession of hit movies during his Shochiku era, including popular song films, during his Toei period, and during his Toei Television era, in period dramas.
