She met actor Cha Seo Won through the MBC drama "The Second Husband". He is currently serving in the military (since November 2022). Her agency confirmed that the couple will get married after he is discharged from his mandatory service. Hyun Kyung is currently expecting a child and will be taking a break from her acting career.
On October 16, 2023, it was announced that she recently gave birth to a son.
