In 2010, "Sun Spots" won the Gold Award of the "Asian Digital Competition" at the Hong Kong International Film Festival. In 2014, his work "Lake August" won the "Jury Award" of the China Independent Film Exhibition. In 2017, "Ghost in the Mountains" was shortlisted for the panorama section of the 67th Berlin International Film Festival.
