He began his career in 1985 as the lead vocalist of BOOHWAL. They performed in underground clubs (first under the name THE END) and were pioneers in bringing heavy metal to South Korea. However, they never produced an album with him as the vocalist, and he decided to leave in mid-1986 to join another band.
He then joined the heavy metal rock band SINAWE and released their second album, "Down and Up", in 1987.
He returned to SINAWE in 1989 and worked on the band's 4th album, "Four", released in 1990.
He decided to become a solo artist and made his debut in 1992 with the studio album, "Rethona", and also featured in 3 albums by SEO TAIJI AND THE BOYS. He is now recognized as one of South Korea's top rockers.
He is represented by Winwon Entertainment (윈원엔터테인먼트).
