He made his debut in August 2012 as E7's vocalist with their first, and only, digital single, "Rising Sun". The group was managed by Excellent Entertainment but the agency faced financial issues and the group went on hiatus right after promotions for their debut single had ended. They officially disbanded in early 2014.
He switched agencies and signed with J Planet Entertainment (제이플래닛엔터테인먼트, formerly known as JJ Holic Media and Isam Media). He re-debuted in August 2016 as MASC's leader and main vocalist with their first EP, "Strange". However, the group faced controversies and lineup changes that ultimately led to their disbandment in October 2020.
He debuted as a soloist in June 2020 with the single “The Rain” and has been involved in writing, composing and producing music for himself and other artists.
He is currently part of 5 Seconds Records.
