She first gained attention in 2001 by participating in Avex Taiwan's "Search for Angels" talent competition, which led to her role as the female lead in a music video by Chen Kuan Hsi. She subsequently worked as a commercial model, appearing in print and television advertisements. In 2005, Fang made her acting debut in the television series "Ping Pong".
