She is the youngest of four siblings and was born to a Filipino mother, Fatima Marbella, and a Moroccan father, Samier Al-Alawi. Due to her father's problems, her mother separated from their father while pregnant with her and came home to Manila in 2004. Her parents decided that her three older siblings (Amira, Hashim, and Ivana) would stay with their father until 2006. She and her family are born-again Christians.
She suffers from Type 1 diabetes, a disease she was diagnosed with in 2011, the year she started her career in show business. She is the only one in her family who suffers from the illness.
