Lu Fei, formerly known as Zhao Dong Lu, was born in Wuchang City of Heilongjiang Province. He graduated from Acheng National High School in 1945 and entered Northeast Military and Political University in 1946. His acting career began with Northeast Art and Art Troupe in 1947. A year later, he joined Northeast Film Studio. In 1953, he joined Beijing Film Studio. His representative works include "South and North War", "Anaerhan" and "Warrior in White".

Lu passed away at the age of 89.
