Lang Phairat Sangwaribut is a Thai film and TV director, film photographer and producer. Active from 1950 until the present, he was honored with the National Artist Award for Performing Arts in Movies and Dramas, for his life achievement in the industry and his commitment to preserving Thai culture. He is also the recipient of several other awards including: the Surasawadee Royal Award in Best 16mm Photography in 1960 for the film Sangkhla; the Mekhala Award in Outstanding Director of a Drama in 1988 for Plae Kao (The Scar) and in 1990 for Koo Gum; and the Gold Television Award in Outstanding Director of a Thai Drama in 1990 for Koo Gum.

Lang Phairat Sangwaribut started as a producer when he entered into a joint venture to establish the Wachirin Film Company. Later, he entered the television industry in 1967 by establishing the Dara Film Company, mostly producing TV dramas for Channel 7. Currently, he is the president of Dara Video, Sam Hua, Dida Video Productions and Chad Ting Ja TV.
He has two sons who work in the same industry named Siam and SYom Sangwaribut. Edit Biography
