Chu Jian is a Chinese actor and screenwriter of China Coal Mine Art Troupe. He graduated from the Chinese Department of Beijing Radio and Television University in 1985 with a college degree.

Chu made his debut appearance in the 1986 movie "Crescent Moon". In 1987, he won the Beijing Municipal Government Award for playing LI Da Heng in the TV series "Triumph in Midnight". In 1990, he won the Dalian Municipal Government Award for his role as Xiao Dou in the TV series "Women and the Well". In 1998, he won the CCTV Spring Festival Gala Outstanding Program Award for his creation of the sketch "I am on the Side of the Road". In 2002, he won the Cao Yu Drama Literature Award for his drama "I Will Not Divorce".
