Kim In Soon, known professionally as Insooni, is a South Korean singer and former member of the HEE SISTERS (희자매). She did not attend high school but later passed the High School Graduation Certification Examination. Her father was an African American soldier who was stationed at a military base in South Korea and later left to go back to the U.S. when she was just a child. She faced immense discrimination due to her skin color and found singing a way to channel her emotions and overcome her difficulties.

She joined the trio HEE SISTERS in early 1978 and performed covers of famous pop songs in an auditorium in Seoul. At first, people were curious to see if a girl group could be successful and also because of her racial background. However, the trio quickly impressed with their outstanding singing, dancing, and physical skills and gained notoriety even before releasing their first album. They made their official debut in July 1978 with the album "Arirang My Love".

However, in October 1979, when their popularity was at its peak, the group split due to management issues, and she went on to debut as a solo artist in 1980 with the album "Fate". At the time, disco music was gaining fans domestically, so she had a breakthrough in late 1983 when her single "Every Night" rose to #7 on the KBS charts and remained in the Top 10 for many weeks.

She is now acclaimed as South Korea's R&B diva, having garnered a wide range of fans over her long and distinguished career. She is one of the few South Korean singers to have performed at Carnegie Hall in New York and has earned several top prizes from South Korean music awards.

In mid-2023, she decided to challenge herself and participated in the KBS reality show "Golden Girls", produced by Park Jin Young. The show documented the steps that 4 legendary singers (including her) needed to take in order to debut as part of a modern girl group, also called GOLDEN GIRLS (골든걸스). They officially debuted in December 2023 with the single "One Last Time".

She is represented by Star It Entertainment (스타잇엔터테인먼트).
