Byun Jin Sub is a South Korean singer. He graduated from Baemoon High School and later obtained a bachelor's degree in Agriculture from Kyung Hee University. He made his debut in the 1987 1st MBC Rookie Song Festival with the song "Our Love Story", winning the Silver Award. One year later, he released his 1st album, "Being Alone", and quickly became a ballad legend being the first singer in the country to officially sell more than one million albums. He dominated the music industry in the late 1980s and even made the term "ballad singer" popular in the country. In 1989, he released his 2nd album "To You Again" selling more than a million albums again and having many songs on top of the charts. Afterwards, he decided not to appear on TV and focus on concerts and public events and with the appearance of groups like Sechs Kies, Turbo, g.o.d., and others, he began to lose some momentum. He still releases music frequently and his songs eventually make it into the charts, but the impact of his first 2 albums has been hard to surpass.
