Iida Joji is a Japanese film director, screenwriter, television drama director, and novelist born in Suwa, Nagano, Japan. He attended Suwa Seiryo High School (諏訪清陵高等学校) and later dropped out of Meiji University (明治大学).

Iida began his career as an independent filmmaker and has written scripts for the "Yo nimo Kimyo na Monogatari " series (世にも奇妙な物語) under the pen name Nakamura Koichi (中村功一). In addition to his work in film and television, he directed his first play, "Operation," in July 2015.
