Ok Taec Yeon is a South Korean singer, dancer, actor, entrepreneur and member of 2PM (투피엠). He graduated from Yeongdong High School and later obtained a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Dankook University and is on a leave of absence from the master's degree program in International Business Administration at Korea University. He was born in Seoul, South Korea, but his family moved to Bedford, Massachusetts, U.S.A, when he was 10 years old and lived there for 7 years.

In early 2008, JYP Entertainment (JYP엔터테인먼트) launched a reality/documentary show called "Hot Blood Men" capturing the training program of 14 trainees. After 3 were eliminated, the remaining 11 trainees joined to create ONE DAY (원데이), and almost immediately, they were split into two separate groups, ballad-oriented 2AM (4 trainees) and hip-hop/R&B-oriented 2PM (7 trainees).

He made his debut in September 2008 as 2PM's main rapper, sub-vocalist and second visual with their first single album, "Hottest Time of Day". The following year, they began achieving commercial success when the single "Again & Again" reached #1 in the South Korean charts.

He made his acting debut in March 2010 with a role in the KBS drama "Cinderella's Sister". In January 2017, he released his first solo album in Japanese titled "Winter". He has provided OSTs for several dramas and composed 2PM's song, "Promise (I’ll Be)".

He enlisted for his mandatory military service on September 4, 2017, and was discharged on May 16, 2019.

In July 2018, while still serving, his contract with JYP ended, and he decided not to renew it. He signed with 51K (피프티원케이) but decided to remain part of 2PM. In 2023, he signed with WME for his activities in the United States.

He has been in a long-term relationship with his non-celebrity girlfriend, which he publicly acknowledged in 2020.
