He made his debut in 1970 with a role in the movie "Ghosts of Chosun". He won the Best New Actor Award at the 10th Blue Dragon Film Awards in 1973 and the Best Actor Award at the 15th Grand Bell Awards in 1976. He spent nearly 20 years acting, and after he retired, he opened several stores selling walnut pies.
He passed away on May 26, 2022, at the age of 73, after battling with liver cancer for several years.
