Kim Gook Jin is a South Korean comedian, MC, actor, and TV personality. He graduated from Inchang High School and later obtained a bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature from Kyonggi University.

He began his career as an actor, making his debut in musical theater in 1983 and moving to stage plays in 1986. He served his mandatory military duty from 1987 to 1990 and, during his service, he was selected for the military entertainment troupe, where he worked as an MC.

He made his official debut in 1991 as part of the 1st KBS College Gag Festival, which the network later established as the 7th open recruitment for comedians. However, a few years later, he was expelled from KBS alongside fellow comedians Kim Yong Man, Park Soo Hong and Kim Soo Yong due to the "Gamjagol Incident". Kim Yong Man had been injured during a show, and the others began shedding light on the historically exploitative, overworked conditions imposed on entertainers by television networks. Senior comedians and KBS opted to ban them from TV, and he went to the United States to study. In the late 1990s, senior comedian Im Ha Ryong defended them, and all were allowed to come back.

He then established himself as a well-known MC and actor during the 2000s. In 2004, he suffered a setback in his career as he divorced actress Lee Yoon Sung and had some unsuccessful projects. But in 2007, he became a new MC for the talk show "Radio Star" and has experienced a resurgence in popularity. He married singer Kang Susie in May 2018, and the couple has one child.

He is represented by Line Entertainment (라인엔터테인먼트).
