Kim Tae Won is a South Korean guitarist and member of BOOHWAL (부활). He graduated from Sungshil High School.

In 1984, he formed a band called THE END with 2 high school friends and performed covers of Western rock songs for audiences in various places in South Korea. When Kim Jung Seo joined in early 1985, he decided to change the band's name to BOOHWAL.

The band led the heavy metal boom in the 80s along with SINAWE and BAEKDOOSAN, but his guitar skills were considered among the best in the country. Their official first album under the band's new name, titled "Rock Will Never Die", was released in October 1986 and featured Lee Seung Chul as the new vocalist after Kim Jung Seo's departure. The lead single, "Heeya", became a massive hit.

The band has been active since then, taking several prolonged breaks in between albums to either find a new vocalist or to do individual activities. In January 2011, he joined the cast of "Qualifications of Men", and during a general medical checkup for all the members, doctors discovered malignant tumours in his stomach. The cancer diagnosis came as a huge shock, but he underwent 2 surgeries just a few days later and has completely recovered since then.

He formed his own label, Boohwal Entertainment (부활엔터테인먼트), to manage the band's activities. He is color blind so, as a result, he prefers to wear sunglasses for all his TV appearances.
