Kim Young Woo
- Name: Kim Young Woo
- Native name: 김영우
- Also Known as: Kim Yeong U
- Nationality: South Korean
- Gender: Male
- Born: January 18, 1978
- Age: 48
During his college years, he was part of the glee club, and there, he met Song Woo Jin, Sung Jin Hwan and In Ho Jin. All four, plus four other friends, created a cappella group who they called SWEET SORROW using the quote "Parting is such a sweet sorrow" from Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet" to remind them of the hardships they faced in the past.
He decided to pursue a music career and made his debut in 2002 by performing at college festivals and events until they won the Daesang at the Yoo Jae Ha Music Competition and signed a contract with Mezoo Cultures. The group released their first studio album, "Sweet Sorrow", in November 2005 and have continued to release albums, EPs or have sung OSTs for several dramas ever since. The group is now self-managed after the members created their own label.
After a two-year hiatus, they returned in 2019 when they joined the female vocal group THE BARBERETTES and performed together as SBSB (스바스바).
He was an adjunct professor at several universities before securing a position as a full professor in the Department of Practical Music at Yonsei University.
