Jang Jung An, known professionally as Chae Jung An, is a South Korean actress and singer. She graduated from Yale Girls' High School and later obtained a bachelor's degree in Theater Studies from Dongguk University.

As a child, she was fond of music and wanted to become an actress. As a teenager, she won the 1995 Johnson & Johnson’s Clean Face Contest, opening the door to a career in the entertainment industry by working as a commercial model. She then made her acting debut in 1996 when she earned a role in the MBC sitcom "Three Guys and Three Girls", while she was still in university.

In July 1999, she made her singing debut with the studio album "Heartless", which became an instant hit and received the New Artist Award at the 10th Seoul Music Awards. However, her singing career began to fade in 2001 when controversy erupted after her live performance of the single "Magic" on MBC's "Music Camp". She sang off-key and forgot part of the lyrics and was heavily criticized by the experts and the public. As a result, she suspended her career as a singer and focused exclusively on acting.

She married a non-celebrity businessman in December 2005 and appeared to quit the entertainment industry altogether. However, the couple divorced in June 2007, and she opted to return to TV. She is represented by KeyEast (키이스트).
