Lee Yong Joo was a South Korean actor and model. He graduated from Kyungwon University with a bachelor's degree in Sports.

He made his debut in 2004 with a role in the movie "Doma Ahn Jung Geun". The following year, he began gaining recognition for his role in the drama "Hello, Franceska". However, his breakthrough role came in 2013 when he became part of the cast of tVN's "Blue Tower".

He was diagnosed with a condition called hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, a genetic heart condition where the muscle wall of the heart thickens abnormally and makes it harder to pump blood. As a result, he was exempted from his mandatory military service. After having some minor appearances, he effectively retired from acting in 2022 to tend to some private businesses.

On August 29, 2026, he died suddenly of a heart attack at the age of 44, caused by his pre-existing condition. The wake was set at Bundang Jesaeng Hospital Funeral Hall, with the funeral procession scheduled two days later, followed by the burial at the Seongnam Municipal Crematorium.
