Sugata Michiko, born Tachibana Ikuko (橘郁子), is a former Japanese actress and singer. Born in Minami 8-jo Nishi 3-chome, Sapporo, Hokkaido, her family ran a dyeing business, Tachibanaya, and had historical roots in Ishikawa Prefecture. Her younger sister, Tachibana Kazuko, was also an actress with Nikkatsu.

Michiko graduated from Sapporo City Nakajima Junior High School and Sapporo Seishu High School. In 1961, while in her first year of high school, she won the lead role in Daiei's film "Suttobi Jingi," leading to her debut and transfer to Nihon University Daisan High School, from which she later graduated.

In the late 1960s, as Daiei shifted towards more sensual films, Michiko's demand decreased, leading her to transition to television dramas after leaving Daiei in 1968.

In March 1971, she married Kurata Makoto, a pitcher for the Yomiuri Giants, and retired to become a homemaker. They have two daughters.
