She made her debut in February 2007 as the group's main vocalist and keyboardist with their first single album, "The Wonder Begins". The group quickly became one of the most popular girl groups in South Korea, and singles like "Tell Me" (2007), "Nobody" (2008), and "So Hot" (2008) topped the domestic music charts. "Nobody" entered the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States, making them the first South Korean group to enter the chart. She became the group's new leader when Sun Ye went on hiatus in January 2013.
She made her debut as a solo artist in July 2014 with her first mini-album, "Me?" under the stage name HA:TFELT.
In January 2017, JYP Entertainment (JYP엔터테인먼트) announced the group's disbandment after some members did not renew their contract.
After leaving JYP, she signed with Amoeba Entertainment and spent nearly 6 years with the company before parting ways in January 2023. She is now an independent artist.
