Johnny Liu is a Taiwanese actor who began his career as a child star. He studied performing arts in Japan.

Liu has a younger sister, Liu Chih Yu, who is also a child star, and a half-brother, Chou Tzu Yu, who is a member of the boy band 4ever.

In 2008, he held a press conference advocating for the protection of performers' rights, which resulted in him being blacklisted by television stations.
