Kim Gi Hyeon is a South Korean actor, voice actor, and comedian born in Okcheon, North Chungcheong, South Korea. He graduated from Daejeon Daeheung Elementary School (대전대흥초등학교), Hanbat Middle School (한밭중학교), and Daejeon High School (대전고등학교), and earned a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy from Chung-Ang University, College of Liberal Arts (중앙대학교 문과대학).

Kim began his career as a voice actor in 1964 through a special recruitment in Daejeon and joined the 4th class of the MBC Voice Acting Division (MBC 성우극회 4기) in 1970. He has worked as a freelancer since 1973.

He completed his military service in Republic of Korea Army between 1966 and 1969, and was discharged with rank of sergeant. In his younger years, he served as a drill instructor at the Army Training Center in Nonsan, South Korea.

His ancestral roots trace back to Gwangsan Kim clan (광산 김씨).

He is married to Son Yeong Hwa (손영화).
