She is a former Top Star of the Takarazuka Revue Company's Star Troupe. Aran entered the Takarazuka Music School in 1989 and debuted as a member of the 77th class in 1991. She was Top Star of Star Troupe from 2007-2009, and currently performs in stage and film. She is of Zainichi Korean descent and her stage name is derived from the title of a Korean legend. She is represented by Horipro.
