Before debuting on TV, Jung Sub worked as a theatrical actor and also as a director. He made his acting debut in 1994 with a role in the MBC drama "Love is in Your Embrace" but he became a well-known celebrity after his role in the 1995 SBS sitcom "LA Arirang" where he played the father of the lead character.
In 2000, Jung Sub was arrested for driving while under the influence of alcohol. In 2018, he semi-retired and focused on his YouTube channel where he uploads cooking videos.
