In December 2017, he resigned from his role as host of Entertainment 100%, citing a desire to concentrate on his acting career after not being nominated for Best Host at the Golden Bell Awards for the second consecutive year.
William announced his engagement to Zhuo Jun Ze on December 24, 2021, and they registered their marriage on April 20, 2022. They welcomed their son on October 12, 2023.
