Kang Dong Won
- Name: Kang Dong Won
- Native name: 강동원
- Also Known as: Gang Dong Won,
- Nationality: South Korean
- Gender: Male
- Born: January 18, 1981
- Age: 44
He continues to surprise the audience in roles like "Voice of a Murderer" and "Maundy Thursday". With his beautiful, androgynous looks, he is becoming popular in other Asian countries, especially Japan. Once again in 2007, he showcased his talent by portraying a grotesque character in Lee Myung Se's "M", marking their second collaboration (the other being his 2005 lead role alongside Ha Ji Won in "Duelist"). As a result, he earned wide recognition from critics for his stylish flair in choice of characters, which are mostly very peculiar roles. In 2010, he won the 30th Critics Choice Award for Best Actor for his performance in "The Secret Reunion". Shortly thereafter, Kang served his compulsory military duty in a public office from November 18, 2010, until his discharge on November 12, 2012.
His father is the Vice President of SPP Shipbuilding Co. Ltd., one of the largest shipbuilding companies in the world.
On March 24, 2022 it was announced that he has signed with America's Creative Artists Agency (CAA) for representation in the U.S. His Hollywood debut in the disaster film 'Tsunami LA', directed by Scott Mann. Filming for the project wrapped up back in 2021.
On December 30, 2022 YG Entertainment officially announced that Kang Dong Won had left the agency following the expiration of his exclusive contract. He has established his own one-man agency named AA Group since January 2023. Edit Biography
