Lil Jay is a Taiwanese singer, actor, and host born in Taipei, Taiwan. He began his career as a member of the Taiwanese breakdancing crew "Black Angle Crew" (黑角舞團) and later became part of the idol groups Lollipop and JPM. He debuted as a member of Lollipop on December 2, 2006, through the Taiwanese Channel V program "Mo Fan Bang Bang Tang" (模范棒棒堂). In Lollipop, he served as a lead singer, rapper, and dancer and contributed to songwriting and composing.

He attended Huluh Elementary School, Chongqing Junior High School, and Songshan Commercial School. He initially studied International Trade at Demin University of Science and Technology before transferring to Hsing Wu University of Science and Technology to study Applied English. His younger brother, Liao Yu Hang, was a second-generation member of Mo Fan Bang Bang Tang.

In 2011, he formed the idol group JPM with Wang Tzu and Mao Ti. After 10 years in the industry, he released his first solo single, "Love Pain," on October 16, 2016. He later established his own company, TOPIA CREATIVE PRODUCTION.
