When he was in the fifth grade, his parents sent him to study at the Salesian School in Macau, a boarding school with military training. After graduating from high school, Tsang returned to Hong Kong and worked for a wallpaper company.
Tsang was reported to have been diagnosed with lung cancer in early 2020. At that time, he had already been rarely seen in public. On the morning of November 12, 2020, he passed away at Tseung Kwan O Hospital at the age of 59.
