Liu's acting career began in 2002 with her debut in the TV drama "Tianxia Wushuang". She released her first album, My "Inferiority Complex", in June 2014. In 2018, she made her debut in the musical "Time Cinema".
Liu is the second of four siblings. Her older sister, Liu Chia Lien, is an event host, her younger brother, Liu Lu Tsun, is a member of the boy band Choc7 and the first generation of Model Bang Bang Club, and her younger sister, Liu Tai Ying, is an actress.
Liu was in a seven-year relationship with Huang Li Cheng, the leader of the band Ma Ji, after meeting him while starring in their music video for "I Live for You." They broke up in 2010.
