Jung Won Gwan
- Name: Jung Won Gwan
- Native name: 정원관
- Also Known as: Jeong Won Gwan, Jeong Won Kwan, Jung Won Kwan
- Nationality: South Korean
- Gender: Male
- Born: March 2, 1965
- Age: 60
In 1987, he joined DSP Media (DSP 미디어; formerly known as Daesung Enterprise) and became part of one of the earliest K-Pop groups, SOBANGCHA. They debuted later that year with their first studio album, "Tell Her".
However, they faced controversy when Japanese media began criticizing them for copying SHONENTAI, a successful Japanese group that had debuted earlier. Then, their single "On the Phone", included in their 1988 album, became immensely popular for its catchy tune. But, the song was nearly a carbon copy of the 1986 BOYS' GENERATION single "Diamond Eyes". The South Korean music industry had no clear rules regarding copyrights or plagiarism at that time, so they went unpunished.
The group had some lineup changes, and he decided to leave in 1990. They have disbanded and regrouped several times over the past decades and he was re-recruited in 1994 and again in 2012, but has not released any new material since their last regrouping.
He is represented by Guardians Company (가디언즈컴퍼니).
