Tsuchiya Tokio is a Japanese screenwriter and scriptwriter, born in Shinagawa, Tokyo. He has used several pen names, including Kurabari Shuichiro (倉成柊一郎) and Tsuchiya Tokio O (土屋斗紀O) from 1995 to around 1999. In the "Yonimo Kimyo na Monogatari" (世にも奇妙な物語) series, he is sometimes credited as Tsuchiya Rokuro (土屋六郎).

Tsuchiya grew up in Hiroshima and later graduated from the Japanese Literature Department at Seikei University (成蹊大学). After briefly working in a company, he attended a scriptwriting school and transitioned to a screenwriting career just before turning 30, with his plot selected for the TV drama "Taiyo ni Hoero!" (太陽にほえろ!). He was mentored by Ogawa Ei (小川英) early in his career.
