Natsume Shunji

He co-founded the theater troupe Dokeza (劇団道化座) in Kobe in 1950. In 1955, he was scouted by Daiei (大映) and made his film debut in Tojuro no Koi (藤十郎の恋). Later, he became a freelancer. In 1970, he established the theater group Kobe Gekidan (劇団神戸), where he served as the head and performed a wide range of both domestic and international plays.
Natsume passed away on December 21, 2014, at the age of 88 due to pancreatic cancer.
