Danny Ray, also known as Rui Dan Ni, is Latvian film actor who works in the Chinese entertainment industry. Danny was born in Latvia, Riga. At age of seven, he got his first try at stage acting in school theatre. Later, at age of fourteen, he began two years of film acting training in Arturs Duboks workshop. At eighteen, he moved to Hollywood, USA to take more acting courses in the Taylor Brooks studio. Upon finishing the course, he got a leading role in an American TV series, but because of legal paperwork and being scammed by local company, was forced to leave USA.

At nineteen, Danny moved to London, UK and applied to Richmond Drama School. After failing the audition, he decided to leave acting behind and went to study business and accounting in Tower Hamlets College. While studying, he took on many jobs to survive, such as bartender, waiter, barista, mover, team manager and salesman. In 2014, he moved to Dalian, China to study Chinese. There, he found a short film student project and, after taking part in the short film, was noticed by a local agent and invited to audition for the Chinese web movie "Deliver Man." After the audition, the film's director changed the originally Chinese actor to Danny Ray as main antagonist. Upon the film's completion, the director was impressed by Danny Ray's performance and took him to meet more agents in Beijing. Since then, Danny Ray very quickly grew experience, by taking part in various TV dramas and movies.
