Seo Ju Hyeon, known professionally as Seo Hyun, is a South Korean singer-songwriter, dancer, actress, and member of GIRLS' GENERATION (소녀시대; also known as SNSD). She graduated from Jeonju Arts High School and later obtained a bachelor's degree in Theater from Dongguk University.

She joined SM Entertainment (SM엔터테인먼트) in 2003 after being scouted on the subway and passing the audition at the agency by singing children's songs.

She made her debut in August 2007 as the group's lead vocalist and maknae with the single "Into The New World", part of their self-titled album "Girls' Generation", released in November of that year. They have been labeled as "The Nation's Girl Group". They rose to fame in 2009 with the single "Gee", which claimed the top spot on KBS's "Music Bank" for a record-breaking nine consecutive weeks and was Melon's most popular song of the 2000s decade.

In April 2012, she debuted as part of the group's first sub-unit, GIRLS' GENERATION-TTS (소녀시대-태티서; also known as TAETISEO), alongside Tiffany and Taeyeon. They released their debut EP, "Twinkle", and she became involved in songwriting.

Individually, she began appearing in several variety and reality shows. Then, she was cast as a voice actor for the South Korean-dubbed versions of the animated films "Despicable Me" (2010) and "Despicable Me 2" (2013). In 2014, she made her debut as a musical actress with the lead role in "Moon Embracing the Sun".

She made her debut as a solo artist in January 2017 with the EP "Don't Say No," and in October 2017, she decided to leave SM after not renewing her contract.

On April 24, 2025, Namoo Actors (나무엑터스) announced that she parted ways with the agency.

On May 15, 2025, LEAD Entertainment announced that they had signed an exclusive contract with her.

On December 9, 2025, she signed an exclusive contract with KKUM ENT.
